Project Management Training Podcasts

Apr 21, 2014

In this podcast is about the management of conflict in projects. Projects are about change, so inevitably projects generate conflict either within the project tram or with external stakeholders. The way in which project managers and team members respond to this conflict is important. In this section we consider the sources of project conflict and the different approaches project managers can adopt to address this conflict. The APM PMQ (previously known as APMP) assessment criteria covered in this podcast include

  • 7.5 identify sources of conflict within the project life cycle and ways in which it can be addressed(such as Blake and Mouton, Thomas/Kilmann and Pruitt)
  • 7.6 explain how to plan and conduct different negotiations (including formal, informal, competitive and collaborative)

This podcast is just part of the parallel learning system for the APM Project Management qualification (APMP). This approach includes a wide range of learning resources included a printed study guide, on-line e-learning, a tutor lead study group and a wide range of project management courses
